
Bengaluru, October 24 (MExN): The Chakhesang Union Bangalore (CUB) on held its annual games and sports meet 2022 at the Koramangala Post Office Ground in Bengaluru on October 22..
The annual event was organised to promote and celebrate the sports culture within the Chakhesang community in Bengaluru besides preparing for the upcoming annual sports meet of the Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB), informed a press release from the union.
There were two teams divided for each sport and football, volleyball, and Basketball were the major events of the day for both men and women, it said.
High jump and tug-of-war were also a part of the event, while traditional Naga Wrestling debuted at the meet.
While there were eighty participants, attendees from the communities of Ao, Angami, Poumai, Tangkhul, Sumi, and Lotha came to support the event in huge numbers, the release informed.
Attendance from other communities sends a message of unity and progress through sports, the CUB President, Akuzo Lohe.
The event was supported by Ramalinga Reddy, the KPCC-Working President & MLA of BTM Assembly, along with financial contributions from Neite Kapfo, an advisor of the Union, it said.
Earlier, the the annual meet was declared opened by the Union's Games and Sports Secretary Atso Sarah.
