
Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): The Chakhro Angami Kuda Students’ Union (CAKSU) library hall was inaugurated at Chakhro Angami Kuda Union (CAKU) office, Dimapur on November 12.
CAKSU, Information and Publication Secretary, Süsel Kera in a press release stated that the library has been initiated with a vision not only to make it into a learning hub for the people of the area but also encourage younger generations to read more. All the books in the library have been sourced purely from donations from well wishers, it stated.
With about 200 books in the library, the collection consists of educational books for school and college students, competitive exam books for aspirants preparing for competitive exams, Tenyidie books and a whole section of books by various Naga authors.
The formal inauguration was done by Pastor, Town Baptist Church, Rev Vilodi Sakhrie. In his speech, Rev Vilodi apprised the gathering on the importance of a library in the area and appreciated the efforts of the CAKSU working behind in putting the library together. He also expressed his delight in having such library in the area as it is an asset for the community as a whole.
Earlier, the programme was chiared by Visimetuo Nagi, Secretary, Education and statistics, invocation by Aneiu K Kerhuo, Pastor, Baptist Revival Church Kuda, welcome address by Neizosienuo Solo, Vice President, CAKSU, short speech by Teiso Solo, CAKU President, special number by Kacharigaon Phevima Students' Union (KPSU) and vote of thanks by Kethosilie Belho, President, CAKSU.
