‘Challenges and Prospects of School Administrator’

Kohima, September 9 (MExN): The School Education Ministry of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council organized Heads of School Conference on September 8 and 9 at the Platinum Hall, NBCC Office Kohima under the theme ‘Challenges and Prospects of School Administrator.’  

A press release stated that the resource persons for the program were Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, NBCC, Sashila Ozukum, Administrator, Hope Academy Dimapur and Ravolü Tetseo, Administrator, Life Foundation School, Chümukedima.  

The topics dealt were ‘Church and Education: Meeting the Challenges,’ ‘Challenges and Prospects of School Administrator,’ and ‘Counseling Issues.’ The Conference started with a report and presentation of vision by Rev. Dr. Mecheihol Savi, School Coordinator which was followed by key note address by Keviseto, Principal, BH and School Board Chairman.  

The first day ended with an evening service which was chaired by Thungchibemo, Headmaster, Mt. Sinai School, Wokha followed by a prayer by Dr. Botoholi, Secretary, Education and Communication. Moatemsü, Principal, CHSS shared his experiences in school and Naga Bazar Baptist School presented a special music.  

There was an offering for the underprivileged scholarship student which was blessed by. Vikuo Rhi, Youth Secretary, NBCC. The speaker for the service was Rev. Dr. Z. Keyho. On the second day there was session on ‘NBCC prescribed Text books: Academic Standard and Relevancy’ where Ms. Apele Thoü, Administrator BHS Peren, Sangmong, Headmaster, CHS Noklak and Surendra, Headmaster, Christian School Pungro spoke on the topic. The Conference ended with a time on ‘Recommendation of School Education Ministry.’  

The moderators for the sessions during the programme were Alemtushi, Principal, Mission Higher Secondary School Dimapur and L. C. Phom. Altogether 43 participants of NBCC member schools attended the conference.
