Puneboqa (Pughoboto), January 11 (MExN):  Former minister Y Vikheho Swu has urged the youth to change their mindset from a ‘welfare state to a developing state.’

This is in line with the present Government of Nagaland’s vision of moving ‘Towards a State of Excellence’, he added, addressing the Day 1 of the Sumi Aphuyemi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SAKK) 48th General Conference in Puneboqa Village, Pughoboto Sub-Division, Zunheboto district on January 9.  In this context, he challenged the youth not to rely on past laurels but instead to strive for personal achievements, contribute to their villages, and uplift the Nagas as a whole.

A press release from the NDPP Pughoboto Region informed that Swu also stressed on India's potential for economic growth, powered by the youth, and urged the audience to compete and be on par with the rest of the country. He further encouraged the gathering to eliminate laziness, placing hard work at the center of their pursuits in any field where they excel.

Highlighting that government service is not the sole job option, he prompted the audience to think innovatively and discussed various schemes and grants.

Swu was accompanied by the rank and file of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Pughoboto Region to the conference. The SAKK 48th General Conference is scheduled to conclude on January 12.
