Dimapur, March 31 (MExN): Three villages under the Changkikong range in Mokokchung district today submitted a representation to the Deputy Commissioner and DEO of Mokokchung demanding the assimilation of the three villages under the 29 Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency.
The representation letter jointly singed by the village council chairmen of the Molungyimsen, Molungkimong and Yimjenkimong villages, while demanding the merger of the three villages to the Jangpetkong A/C, stated that it was the desire of all the villages under the Changkikong range to be under one assembly constituency.
The release stated that the three villages, though they are under the Changkikong range, they are under different assembly constituencies; Molungyimsen under 21 Tuli A/C, Yimjenkimong and Molungkimong under 30 Alongtaki A/C.
Due to this segregation, the release stated that the three villages have ‘undergone untold sufferings and made these three villages to be politically, economically and geographically isolated since statehood.
Standing on the above points, the release stated that with the impending readjustment, the three villages reiterate their demand to be assimilated under the 29 Jangpetkong constituency in Mokokchung district.
