Changtongya Volleyball Association launches official kits and flag

Changtongya, March 25 (MExN):  The Changtongya Volleyball Association (CVA), a premier volleyball team of the State, released its official jersey, track suit and flag on March 24.   

The kits and the flag were dedicated by Rev I Wati Jamir, Pastor Changtongya Baptist Church in an event held at community hall, Changtongya on Thursday. 

Speaking on the occasion,  CVA President Imkongsanen Longkumer informed that the Association was formed in 2018 with the assistance of IGP (Range), Limasunep Jamir, then Commissioner of Police Dimapur.

Since then, the CVA has lifted over 22 title trophies as well as other team and individuals’ achievement, he said.   

The official jersey of the CVA is being sponsored by Kohima-based Lenjeter, Ao monthly magazine for five years while the official track suit was sponsored by the Changtongya Village Council, he added.  

It must be mentioned here that since its formation in 2018, CVA has won over 15 major districts or State –level open tournament and other competitions including 4 in the current season (2021-22) so far.

These include Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy, All Nagaland Dr Imkongliba Ao Memorial Open Volleyball Trophy, and Late Nokdenlemba Open Volleyball Trophy organised by Ao Student’s Conference (AKM).

The Association was also losing finalist four times and 2nd runner-up once, while the players have over 30 individual prizes. 

Notably, five players from the Association represented Mokokchung district team (Men’s) which lifted the 18th All Nagaland Inter-Dist Volleyball Tournament 2021 organised under the aegis of Nagaland Volleyball Association (NVA) and hosted by Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA) in November. 

Lauding the achievement of the Association as a blessing from God, Rev Wati in his speech urged the players and office bearers to honour God and play their games with best of ability and discipline in the future. Village council member from Changtongya and Changtongya New villages also gave exhortations. 

Among others, council and church members, village unions, woman’s organisations, students’ union of both villages attended the launching programme.
