DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13 (MExN): SHGs from all the 12 villages under Chare Block, Tuensang District are already credit linked and declared 100% villages credit linked. This was disclosed by Branch Manager, State Bank of India (SBI), Chare, Vizoto Tetso during the Community Based Repayment Mechanism (CBRM) committee meeting held at SBI Chare branch premises on August 11.

Tetseo said the public are very cooperative and disciplined in loan repayment and SHGs credit linked are making repayments regularly. He said the SBI plans to provide loans to all the SHGs having account in the branch, a press release issued by Area Coordinator-FI, BMMU Chare Block, Chumdila Sangtam informed.

Rajuselie Lhousa, State Program Manager-Financial Inclusion from State Mission Management Unit, NSRLM addressed the CBRM meeting as a special guest. He said the CBRM committee is supposed to be held monthly with the branch manager as chairperson, the Block Program Manager (BPM) as convenor and bank sakhi as secretary, and 2 representatives from each Village Level Organization (VLO) as members. 

The core agenda for the meeting is on repayment of loans and scaling loan to other SHGs. Other issues are maintenance of regular account transactions by SHGs & individual members, opening of savings account of new SHGs and individuals, insurance enrolment & claim settlements etc. He also expressed gratitude to the BM for achieving a good record within a span of 2 months of his posting to the Chare branch.

Amongst the 183 SHG savings bank account opened in the bank branch, 147 are main stream SHGs, 28 elderly and 8 PwDs. So far, 59 SHGs have availed loan amounting to Rs 95.5 lakhs. 

Altogether 24 member representatives the VLO, the Assistant District Program Manager (ADPM) and all Block Program Managers (BPMs) of Chare, Chessore, Noksen, Sangsangyu, Shamator and Thonokyu attended the first-ever held CBRM meeting. Thrikyuse Sangtam (ADPM) and Lemtsingla Sangtam (DCFI) also spoke in the meeting. 

The meeting was chaired by Chumdila Sangtam, area coordinator-financial inclusion (ACFI) NSRLM, Chare Block.
