Charis High Academy (CHA), Chumukedima organised a thanksgiving programme on August 13 in commemoration of the school receiving CBSE affiliation. CHA got the affiliation on June 3, 2016 less than two years after it was founded in 2014.
The programme was attended by the parents of the students with Rev. Candid Sareo, pastor of Tangkhul Baptist Church, Diphupar giving the thanksgiving address. Rev. Sareo in his message emphasised on the significance of thanksgiving as a sign of gratefulness to God for his ever present compassion.
Sedevonuo Yoshu, speaking on behalf of the parents of the school’s pupils, described CHA as a school which encourages and works towards enabling the children to explore, to be curious and inquisitive. “There are so many schools striving to be affiliated but Charis High made it. It has found favour in the side of God,” she said.
Toshi Aier, former Chief Secretary to the Nagaland state government and the Chief Information Commissioner, emphasised on the importance of the role of all the stakeholders attached to the school – the parents and the teachers in particular. “What becomes of the school tomorrow? The challenge is what lies ahead for which everyone has a role to play.”
The school at present has classes from nursery to 9. According to the principal, Saroj Kumar Nayak, the school will be upgraded yearly till the 12th standard. The academic session runs from April-March.
