
Medziphema, June 24 (MExN): The Chathe Valley Landowners Union (CVLU) members have asserted “the absolute right to decide whether or not to develop their land, construct temporary or permanent fence, building or to settle down either temporarily or permanently in their own land.”
A total of 132 signatories, in a resolutions dated June 24, 2023, stated that “should a single boundary pillar, fence, building or any structure belonging to any member of the CVLU be damaged, the Maova Village Council shall be held solely responsible.”
The CLVU members also stated that any form of obstruction on the CVLU members from developing their land, imposition of alien customary laws on them other than the legal and Naga customary laws shall not be tolerated.
“Henceforth, any form of provocation on the members by the Maova Village Council or individual(s) shall be retaliated,” it cautioned.
Further, it resolved that CVLU shall uphold the ‘Notice’ of the CPO stated Medziphema the 14th November 1995 and also uphold the ‘Decision Order’ of the DB Court, office of the ADC Medziphema dated 24/22/21.
