Chenewe Swuro today emerged as the champion of 37th Losami Wrestling Meet 2024. Waku K Tara and Tsolo K Tara stood 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
The trio along with other five wrestlers in senior category will represent Losami village at the forthcoming Phek Area wrestling meet at Phek town.
In Under-16 category, Cheweri Swuro bagged the 1st position while Mesuhi K Tata and Lhomewe Lothe stood 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
Earlier, Wetsote K Swuro, SDAO Central Store Dimapur and Kowete Mekrisuh, Head GB Losami village graced the meet as the opening and closing guest respectively.
The programme was led by Losami Youth Society (LYS) Vice President, Chehikho Wezah while LYS president Hichote Kepfoh delivered presidential address. LYS Games & Sports Secretary, Kewecholo Akami administered oath to the wrestlers. The closing function was led by LYS Publicity & Information Secretary, Hiweku Mebou while vote of thanks was proposed by LYS Social & Culture Secretary, Puwelo Mekrisuh.
