Chenwetnyu Village Council Office inaugurated

Mon, December 28 (MExN): Chenwetnyu Village Council Office which was constructed under MGNREGA and grant in aid was inaugurated by MLA 45 Tehok, CL John and dedicated by Rev. Dr. W. Pongsing Konyak on December 24.


A press release received here stated that CL John congratulated the village council chairman, secretary and all the villagers for taking initiative in constructing the office building. He said that it is the first complete village council office in Mon district. He called it as mini office complex.


He encouraged them to continuously cite the good example to others and use the building for progressive measures. He also urged other neighbouring villages to use Government fund/ scheme for village/society development.


The chief guest also released the book “Chenwetnyu Village Council Goun Bura & Village Council member’s bio – data 2018.”


BDO Chen, B. Wakhoo in his short speech said that development and achievement in the village/society come through unity and cooperation among villagers. He congratulated the Chenwetnyu village for their big achievement. He also said that Chenwetnyu is one of the most progressive villages in Mon district and further urged Village Council, VDB- Village Management Committee to take assessment and plan out works. On behalf of District Administration, SDO (Civil) Mon also delivered short speech.


The programme was chaired by MP. Nockpai, VC Chairman Chenwetnyu. He said that being in the border of Myanmer under Mon district, they faced lots of problems in communication, transportation and took nearly five years to complete the building. Welcome address was delivered by Y. Khahwang Head GB, special song was presented by Youth Executive Chenwetnyu, and cultural song was presented by Chenmoho Village Council and CASK, Chen Town Unit. The chief guest was received by Brass Band Chenwetnyu.
