Chhau Parva festival in Ungma village concludes

Chhau Parva a festival and workshop on Chhau dances, an Indian semi-classical dance, which began on January 28, concluded today at Babu Tzubu Amphitheatre, Ungma Village, Mokokchung.
The festival was organized by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama an autonomous body of Ministry of culture, Government of India in collaboration with the Ungma Village Council, Mokokchung.
The workshops which were held for two days (January 29 and 30) saw active and positive response from students representing various schools and colleges including Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung. The resource persons for the workshops were Tapan Kumar Pattanayak, Jharkand and Bharat Sharma from Delhi.
The first day festival witnessed performances from Trilochan Mohanata and group from Odisha, Tapan Kumar Pattanayak and group from Jharkhand, Bipad Taran Mahato and group from West Bengal and Dusmanta Kumar Basa and group from Odisha.
On the second day performances were given by Dashrath Mahato and group from Jharkand, Tarini Charan Dhir and group from Odisha, Phulchand Mahato and group from West Bengal and Bibhudatta Das and group from Odisha.
On the last day of the festival power performances were given by Nirvaran Mahato and group from Jharkand, Kamalendulal Mohanta and group from Odisha, Gourish Roy and group and Asit Kumar and group from West Bengal.
The three day festival was a first of its kind in Mokokchung Town as well as in Ungma village which attracted a lot of crowd and well wishers.
