Chief Secy chairs meeting on Census 2011

Kohima, January 25 (DIPR): A meeting on Census 2011 (Phase II) was held at Chief Secretary’s conference hall on January 25. The Chief Secretary Nagaland, Lalthara chaired the meeting which was attended by several Administrative Heads of Departments and Heads of Departments.
Director Census Operation, Hekali Zhimomi, IAS gave a power point presentation on preparedness for Phase II, Census 2011, where she highlighted the strategies being worked out for the smooth functioning of the census operation. During the presentation the Director Census mentioned that the enumeration of houseless households, enumeration of special charges would be made. She also stated that special focus on disability, gender and work would be made during the phase II.
The meeting also discussed on the appointment of Senior Officers as Census Observers in all the districts and also resolved to inform the SCERT to start the B. Ed. training courses from the month of April 2011 only to enable some government employees engaged in census duty to take up the course. In regard to the enumeration of houseless households on February 28 and formation of Census squads the house resolved to direct the DCs to take necessary action. It was also agreed that the State Government would provide the required manpowers to assist the Biometric teams in recording data in all the districts of the State.
