Childline Dimapur conducted an ‘Open Forum ‘on July 17 at Ura Villa Colony, Walford. The forum assessed, reviewed and evaluated the services of Childeline and was attended by the colony chairman, secretary, and local residents.
Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): Childline Dimapur has conducted Open House at Ura Villa Colony, Walford on July 17. Open House is a forum for children associated with Childline to address conflicts, assess, review and evaluated the service. The Open House programme was attended by the colony Chairman, Secretary, and local residents, where Childline Dimapur (CLD) gave awareness on Childline and its functions, child rights, right to education and other health related issues. CLD divided the participants into three groups comprising two children groups, men and women folk in one group where they shared their problems and crisis faced in and around their community.
About Childline
Childline Dimapur 1098 is a National 24 hour’s free emergency outreach service for children who are in need of care and protection. It is a project run by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India in partnership with the State Government, NGO’s, Academic Institutions, UNICEF and the Corporate Sector. Childline Dimapur started in the month of February 2011 where numerous cases were handled which includes abused children, runaway children, missing, medical needs, juvenile in conflict with law, and children in need of care and protection. At present the toll free number 1098 functions only from landline and BSNL mobile phones, connections to 1098 from other mobile network will be available in the following months.
