
Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): With the objective of sensitizing students on education and child rights, CHILDLINE Dimapur in collaboration with Femina Miss India Nagaland, Kaheli Chophy, conducted a awareness programme at Vitoyi Memorial School and Government High School Nito, under Nuiland sub division of Dimapur District on May 18.
The students and teachers in both the schools were briefed about CHILDLINE 1098, a toll free 24x7 helpline outreach service for children in need of care and protection and its activities, by CHILDLINE counselor Aligha V Yeptho, a press note informed.
As a part of her Femina Miss India 2017 project “beauty with a purpose,” Kaheli Chophy, spoke on the importance of education and interacted with the students and teachers, it said.
She also stressed on child sexual abuse and pointed out the four personal spaces of a person, it added.
The Naga beauty queen taught the students the mechanism to create a safe and secure environment for themselves as well as differentiating between a ‘good and bad touch.’ She also urged the students to share with others, especially their siblings about the same.
Pamphlets for further information on CHILDLINE as well as wall clocks and sweets were also distributed in both the schools.
The headmasters of both the schools expressed their gratitude towards CHILDLINE Dimapur and Kaheli Chophy for their visit, the press note added.
