CHILDLINE holds seminar on Child Rights

Dimapur, May 2 (MExN): CHILDLINE Dimapur conducted a seminar with the students of Classes 9 and 10 of Xuvihe Memorial School at Xuvihe Colony, Westyard, Dimapur, on April 29.  

According to a press release, Aligha V Yeptho, Counselor of CHILDLINE Dimapur took a session on Child Rights and highlighted the present scenario on violations of Child Rights in our state along with a presentation on CHILDLINE service and activities.  

The second session was taken by Imnawangla, an MSW student of MLCU Shillong. She spoke regarding Sex Education and focused on “good and bad touch” which was demonstrated by her fellow interns. It also included a short video clipping on sexual abuse to widen the students’ understanding on the topic and help them differentiate between “good and bad touch”, the release stated.  

he third session on Health and Hygiene – the theme of the school for the month of April – was taken by Anoka, another MSW student of MLCU Shillong. He stressed on the importance of healthy living and shared tips and techniques on how children can keep themselves clean and healthy. The session ended with distribution of CHILDLINE pamphlets for further reference.  

The Principal, Achumo Khuvung, expressed his gratitude towards CHILDLINE for taking this initiative to help and create awareness among the children which stands at the epitome of importance at this stage of their growth, the release stated.
