NDWM Nagaland Region, in collaboration with ACID observed Anti-Child Labour Day in Dimapur on June 12.

Dimapur, June 12 (MExN): National Domestic Workers’ Movement (NDWM) Nagaland Region, in collaboration with Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) observed Anti-Child Labour Day on June 12. The event brought together children, parents, educators and community leaders to raise awareness against the exploitation of children through labour, stated an update received here. 

In the welcome address, Sr Pramila Lobo, Coordinator of NDWM Nagaland Region emphasised the importance of health, education and protection of children's rights. She reminded those gathered that children belong in schools and homes, not workplaces.

Advocate Priya, in her keynote message, highlighted the mental and physical toll that child labour takes on young lives. She stressed that it is the duty of parents and guardians to be aware of these harmful impacts and ensure their children are not deprived of education and a safe childhood.

The event witnessed the active participation of around 150 individuals. The gathering also featured awareness messages and interaction with children about their rights and significance of education. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Kiran.
