Children immunized in Peren district

Peren, April 4 (MExN): Along with the rest of the districts in Nagaland, the second round of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) started in Peren district on April 2. The Booth Day was successfully carried out in the whole district, informed a press release from Pezanguno Celine Secü, District Media Officer, Chief Medical Officer’s office, Peren.  

The booth coverage on April 2 for the whole district was 7224, while 6191 houses were visited and 1608 children immunized on April 3. The whole operation was monitored by supervisors comprising Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tiala Longkumer, UIP/RCH, Dr. Khrielasanuo and Medical Officers in their respective Block, the release said.  

With a target population (0-5 years) of 13,294 in the entire district, the immunization programme covered 106 villages, 6 towns, 3 transit, 4 Medical Mobile Units and 10 migratory population sites with a total of 105 booths. It was informed that teams involving health workers, Police department, 18 Assam Rifles, Anganwadi workers, ASHAs of every village were sent out to every part of the district ensuring that no child is missed out. The house to house visits continued till April 4.
