At children’s parliament, Nagaland gets ‘Dy Minister’ of Peace and Justice

Keneisevono Punyu from Nagaland (Centre) who was chosen as the Deputy Minister of Peace and Justice at the National Inclusive Children’s Parliament 2020. 

 

Dimapur, February 28 (MExN): The National Inclusive Children’s Parliament 2020 witnessed a total of 75 children from across 29 states and speaking more than 23 different languages coming under one roof to participate in the parliament and to be sworn as in as ‘Ministers’.

 
Keneisevono Punyu, class 10 student of Spring Blossom School, Dimapur represented Nagaland. She was elected as a Deputy Minister of Peace and Justice, one of the sustainable development goals. 


Punyu was accompanied by Alomi Sumi of Prodigals’ Home as the coordinator in the event organised by ‘Nine is Mine’ from January 28 to February 4 at Navinta Retreat and Don Bosco Institute in Okhla, New Delhi. 


The session concluded with children addressing the press and reviewing the Budget 2020.


Children participants were trained to advocate and fight for their rights of enjoying basic health and quality education.
