Chingwang justifies citizenship issue

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 17 (MExN): Retaliating to allegations by rivals that he was not a real citizen of 46 A/C Mon, Congress candidate of 46 A/C Mon, MLA Chingwang Konyak justifies that though he is now known to be from Shiyong village of 42 A/C Wakching, he is actually a descendent of Chui village of 46 A/C Mon. He challenged that he can trace back and affirm the truth and added that he has enough authentic proof in the form of clans and relatives in Chui village. Speaking at a Congress party meeting was held at Totok Chingkho village under 46 A/C Mon, Chingwang, however said that all these were unimportant as the Constitution of India has legally provided for any Indian citizen to contest from anywhere in India.
