Phek, December 21 (MExN): The 15th Chizami Women’s Day (Nitsümi Zah Mehpu) under the aegis of Chizami Women Society took place at Theza, Chizami Village in Phek district on December 20.

Zhonelu Tunyi, President, Chakhesang Mothers’ Association, highlighted that women’s gatherings are powerful platforms that bring about meaningful change and create a positive impact on society.

She acknowledged the vital role of men as the backbone of women’s success. She emphasized that women are divinely created to love and respect men, and that when women extend love and respect, it is often reciprocated in the same spirit. She emphasized that in today’s ever-changing world, the role and responsibility of women have become more crucial than ever.

She challenged women to stand firm in truth and uphold their responsibilities, highlighting that love and respect within the family form the foundation of a healthy and better society. She further reflected on the biblical account of woman being created from the rib of man, symbolizing love, care, and companionship.

Tunyi underscored the crucial role parents play, especially when children are sent outside for work or studies. She emphasized the need to ensure proper guardianship and to provide continuous love and care so that children grow into grounded, appreciative, and resilient individuals. Drawing an analogy from farming, she noted that just as crops require regular nurturing to thrive, children too need consistent guidance, affection, and attention.

She also encouraged parents to be open and honest about their struggles, fostering deeper understanding, empathy, and appreciation within the family.

Tunyi spoke on both the benefits and drawbacks of mobile phone usage, emphasized the importance of not imposing personal expectations on children, and highlighted mothers as invaluable blessings.

She called on women to extend motherly love to all children without discrimination. She further encouraged them to focus on the positive, pray earnestly, and lead exemplary lives for the betterment and growth of the community. Urging that love and integrity should always prevail, she likened mothers to the bond that holds everything together.

Tunyi encouraged the women to draw inspiration from Queen Esther, whose courage and faith led to the deliverance of her people from destruction. Concluding her message, the Speaker reaffirmed the call to live with faith, strength, and purpose by citing Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Kewepelo Tsuhah, Chairman, Chizami Village Council delivered a word of encouragement, affirming women as a precious gift from God.
Drawing inspiration from the lives of Elizabeth and Abigail, he emphasized the role of women as caretakers, nation builders, and peacemakers, with the ability to heal and restore broken relationships.

He encouraged the women to remain courageous and steadfast in all their endeavours.

Earlier, Kezunyipe-u Tsuhah, Chairperson,  Chizami Women Society (CWS) in her welcome address acknowledged and expressed her sincere gratitude to all participants and leaders for their presence, active involvement, and valuable contributions.

She acknowledged the continued support extended to her team and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration and unity going forward.
