
Chümoukedima, July 13 (MExN): Following the Nagaland Transport Department’s notification that prohibited movement of three-axle transport vehicles including those with carrying capacity is 30.5 tonnes or more, along the Dimapur-Mao stretch of the national Highway for 25 days starting from July 15, the Chümoukedima Deputy Commissioner has issued a notice stating that upward journey of the aforementioned category of vehicles would not be allowed from Chümoukedima with effect from July 15 midnight.
Advising goods transport vehicles to only carry loads of permissible weight as per the registration Certificate and to obtain weight measuring certificates, DC Abhinav Shivam also informed that overloaded vehicles would not be allowed to ply. A fine of Rs 20,000 would be imposed on offenders along with an additional amount of Rs 2,000 per tonne of excess load. They will also be liable to pay charges for offloading excess load, the DC’s notice stated.
The DC further informed that the vehicles can obtain weight measuring certificate at 7th Mile inter-State Truck terminal for which the diversion point would be at 7th Mile.
A temporary check point will be set up near Chathe Bridge, Ward 1 to check the transit of the restricted vehicles, the notice stated.
