Chümoukedima DPDB meeting focuses on school openings and society registrations

CHUMOUKEDIMA, SEPTEMBER 11 (MExN): The Chümoukedima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting on September 10 under the chairmanship of Zhaleo Rio, Advisor for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, at the DPDB Conference Hall in Chümoukedima.

The meeting began with an introduction of new members and a review of the previous meeting’s discussions. Advisor Zhaleo Rio welcomed the new Deputy Commissioner and expressed optimism about the district's progress under his leadership. He emphasized the role of DPDB meetings in the development and implementation of projects and encouraged active participation and reporting of achievements.

Key agenda items included the approval of new schools- St Mary School, Singrijan; A. Apostolic Mission Residential School, Chümoukedima; and New Ebenezer School, Naga United Village. The proposal for a Government Primary School at Melongmem Village was deferred to the next meeting. Society registrations for Shiheli Old Age Home, Frolic Club, Medziphema; Two Wheeler Taxi Association; and North East Institute of Social Sciences & Research (NEISSR) were discussed. Frolic Club, Medziphema was approved, while the others will be reviewed after further verification.

Other discussions covered proposals for creating a DEO post, downgrading Government Middle School Piphema Bazar to a Primary School, upgrading Government High School Sovima to a High Secondary School, and setting up a committee for Unity Gate. The recognition of Lhokheto Village under Dhansiripar sub-division was deferred to the next meeting.
