Chümoukedima DPDB recommends key projects for government approval

Chümoukedima, July 12 (MExN): The Chümoukedima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at DPDB Hall, DC’s, office, Chümoukedima on July 10. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, Polan John. 

Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, welcomed the new members and thanked the Chief Secretary and Advisor, NSDMA for their visit and inspecting flood related areas in Chümoukedima, Medziphema and Dimapur District, stated a DIPR report.
Zhaleo urged all the departments to prioritise their schemes, programmes, plans and put inputs of each section of work and dissimilate their action plan of their yearly programs in the meeting as well as for the welfare of the public and the State, as their contribution will make a big difference. 

Asserting that Chümoukedima district was named as ‘Land of opportunities’, Minister, PHED, Jacob Zhimomi in his address urged the members to work with that motive and create opportunities for the people of the district, DIPR report stated. 

Stressing on structure of urban infrastructure, Zhimomi said it is very important and it’s a challenge for everyone. Therefore, he urged the department to support and put their inputs with more interaction, and more businesses which are accessible to our people, so that we can diversify in the districts. Overall, he appealed for a collective effort from all members to create opportunities for the district. 

After reviewing the last meeting minute, the board deliberated on agendas of society registration and agreed to recommend the following societies after thorough deliberations: Riverine Educational Society at Thilixu Village; Western Satoi Public Union at Chekiye Village, and Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Society at Diphupar- B Village. 

Other agendas discussed were finalization of LADP 2025-2026 for 5 Ghaspani-II A/C; Proposal for creation of Post and Construction of Office Building under the establishment of District Agriculture Officer, Chümoukedima; Proposal for creation and establishment of District Employment Exchange (DEE) under Chümoukedima District; Proposal for construction of Office Building and creation of Post under the District Sports Office were discussed, and the board  agreed to recommended and forward to the Government for final approval.

The Power Department presented their departmental activities focussing on prepaid metering under RDSS and PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijili Yojana Scheme. In his PowerPoint presentation, SDO, Power, Er Vikhozolie Nisa highlighted the advantage of smart prepaid meter, where it has become not a choice but mandatory as per the notification issued by the Government.  

He pointed that smart prepaid is a  better choice as it ensures financial stability, flat tariffs, no more bill issues or complaints, free replacement of electricity meter, and energy saving efficiency. 

Later, video documentary on conservation of Chathe River Bed Mining, an initiative of District Administration and various stakeholders was screened during the meeting. The documentary was launched for public aware of the consequences that is taking place and will be facing in the future.

The next departmental activities will be presented by DCPO (District Child Protection Office), Chümoukedima in the next meeting. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from the chairperson.
