Chümoukedima emerge champions of first CDFL 2022

Home team, Chümoukedima FC were announced as winners of the first Chümoukedima District Football League 2022 on the closing day of the tournament, October 1 at district local ground. 

Special guest, K Neibou Sekhose, President, Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and Executive member in All India Football Federation (AIFF) lauded the Chümoukedima District Football Association (CDFA) for hosting such an event although Chümoukedima was one of the youngest districts in the state. 

“You have created history in the annals of CDFA by being a part of this league,” he stated.  

He motivated the organisers to constantly seek improvement in their approach irrespective of the criticisms they will receive from people. “Take the criticism as a sharpening stone for the Association, but have the positive mind to move ahead.”

He further mentioned that the NFA in line with AIFF direction will be brining significant changes in respect of tournaments, referees, coaches & players, in due course of time.

Lastly, the official encouraged the players to maintain good sportsmanship throughout their careers.

The winners walked away with a total cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh along with the player of the tournament, awarded to Manton. They had also managed to win all 7 of their league matches with a total score of 21 points.  

Naga United FC stood in second position and were rewarded a total cash prize of Rs 80,000. The best defender was adjudged to Kathoho (#6) from Naga United. 

Highest goal scorer- Keneisede (#17) of Piphema United
Best goal keeper- Lijanthung (#1) of Sovima FC 
The tournament lasted for a total of 13 days in left with 8 teams competing in the maiden league.
