DIMAPUR, MAY 5 (MExN): The Chumoukedima Meitei Council has condemned the communal violence committed in Manipur during the last two days.
It termed as unfortunate that the two communities who have been living together for the past many centuries and share a common history of Manipur could not settle the arising issues in the initial stage.
It has appealed the two affected communities and organisations to stop violence to bring peace in the state while stating that violence only cause loss of life and properties and brings nothing to us.
It also condemned in the strongest term the destruction of religious institutions and properties in Meetei dominated areas while stating that religion has nothing to do with the issue at hand.
