Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): The Health Centre Management Committee (HCMC), PHC Chümoukedima and Village Health Committee (VHC), Chümoukedima Village on Sunday commended the efficiency with which the Nagaland Health Project (NHP) under department of Health &Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland is being implemented.
In a press release, VHC Chairperson Sedevikho Tsükru stated that the NHP which is assisted by World Bank has been very beneficial particularly in terms of boosting basic services in the Health centres and creating investment opportunities for the health committees through its livelihood programmes in both urban and rural sectors. “The meticulous mode of fund disbursement is a distinct feature of the Project through which the Health Centres and Health Committees are handed the funds directly without hassle,” he said while adding that the support of the NHP during the COVID-19 Pandemic has been very beneficial for Village Health committees, since NHP incorporated various sensitization programmes through which the people could be educated during the crucial times.
According to the release, the performance of PHC Chümoukedima has improved considerably through the NHP funded programmes including infrastructure, equipments and medicines. On COVID-19 pandemic, the existing schemes under NHP for procurement of COVID-19 related equipments and medical utilities have greatly enhanced performance of the PHC, it said. The release also stated that under NHP civil works, various repair works has been taken up in the PHC facility including water supply facilities, boundary fence and entrance gate has all been completed under the programme thus far.
Meanwhile, the PHC Chümoukedima conveyed its appreciation and congratulated the Department of Health and Family Welfare for effectively and efficiently implementing the Nagaland Health Project.
