Khulazu Basa, January 8 (MExN): The 36th session of Chokri Area Baptist Youth Fellowship (CABYF) hosted by Khulazu Basa Baptist Church concluded at Khulazu Basa village ground on Sunday.

Delegates from 10 villages-- Chesezu Chetheba town, Kikruma, Khulazu Basa, Khulazu Bawe, North Kikruma, Phusachodu, Phuyoba, Thenyizu, and Thipuzu--under Chokri area of Phek district participated in the three daylong programme, informed a press release from the host village.

One of the speakers, Professor Dr Razouselie Lasetso, Vice Principal of Eastern Theological College, Jorhat-Assam, observed that a lot of reasoning with little or no consideration of faith seems to be the trend today-a kind of reason that has become self pleasing.

'Faith cannot be observed. It is something that we believe in firmly and something beyond our imagination. It should be accompanied by reason', he said speaking on the topic “Faith and Reason,” the release stated.

Stating that faith and reason is important, Dr Lasetso is said to have encouraged the gathering to reason with God and with people why they exist. He further called upon the youth to remember to stay humble and told them to fight the good fight in this age of globalisation.

Rev Muluvoyi Nienu, youth secretary of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council also challenged the youth to stand firm in Christ in spite of all difficulties and challenges they may face in life. Because if one does not stand firm, one will be dragged and give in to temptation, he cautioned.

Other speakers were Rev Kehovi Tase, executive secretary of Japfüphiki Baptist Church Council and Kehuve Chuzho, Pastor Khulazu Basa Baptist Church.

In the solo competition, Khulazu Basa won first place, Khulazu Bawe came second while Kikruma village was third. For Octet, Chetheba town won first place. Phusachodu and Thenyizu won second and third respectively.
