Dimapur, September 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) reacted strongly today to what it termed as “baseless allegations” leveled against the party concerning the proposed “cow slaughter ban promotion rally” by BJP MLA and Advisor Imkong L. Imchen, dismissing the claims as “fantasy.”
According to the NPCC, one of the MLA’s allegations was that the party had not condemned the proposed programme. Calling this assertion factually incorrect, the NPCC stated: “Our official stance on the issue is clearly spelled out for all to see in the public domain, and it would have served our Advisor well if he had cared enough to choose facts over fantasy.”
Accordingly, it pointed out that the party had strongly and unequivocally denounced the proposed 'Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra' through a press statement dated September 10.
Meanwhile, in press release via its Communications Department, the NPCC simply dismissed the other “unsubstantiated tirade of allegations” as lacking “any shred of merit in responding.” It reiterated its vehement condemnation of the proposed Gau Dhwaj, deeming it “an assault on the diverse and secular spirit enshrined in our Constitution,” and reaffirmed its commitment to continue the fight against such divisive agendas.
