CHOZUBA, AUGUST 23 (MExN): A two-day Open Badminton and Carom Board Championship was successfully conducted at GHS Japan Riba, Chozuba, on August 22–23, 2025, officials said.
The event was graced by special guest Dr Tchitu Nienu, Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Chozuba, who encouraged participants to use the opportunity not only for competition but also to maintain a balance between physical and mental health. He appreciated the organizers for creating a platform for young people and elders to come together and enjoy the event. Nengpichong Singsit, EAC Chetheba, also addressed the participants, while Zeno Swuro, Women’s Pastor, Chozuba Village Baptist Church, invoked God’s blessing.
In the Carom Board category, Uzhozo Rhakho and Nutsuyi Nienu won first place, while Khrukhozo Shijoh and Vekhwunu Ringa were runners-up.
In badminton, the mixed doubles title went to Wetelo Mero and Lhitiü Lasuh, with Mevete Nuh and Dieweü Wetsah finishing second. In men’s doubles, Wetelo Mero and Mevete Nuh claimed the top spot, while Kunusayi Rhakho and Tsuhto Rhakho were second.
