Thenyizu, December 10 (MExN): Chozuba Kings FC thrashed Genius K Basa FC 7-0 in the final to lift the first edition of Winter Cup Football tournament held at Thenyizu local ground on Saturday.
Medovoyi hat-trick and Punuruh brace made sure Chozuba team win the title in style.
The three-day tournament was organise by Khretho Boys Kohima.
In the final match, Punuruh opened the account in 10th minute and added his second goal two minutes later.
A defensive error cost Genius team as Vebuzo scored the third goal in the 15th minute, followed by Berelhu in 30th minute, Mudovoyi with ease scored another goal in 40th minute to make it 5-0 in the first half.
With no comeback in the second half from K Basa side, Mudovoyi took the opportunity to score another goal in the 60th minute and completed his hat-trick in the extra time as Genius suffered a humiliating defeat to end the tournament. Chozuba Kings FC walked home richer with a cash prize of Rs 30000, while Genius FC K Basa recieved a cash of Rs 15,000.
While on the way to the finals, Chozuba Kings FC defeated Kohima Boys FC by solitary goal in the first semifinal match. While in the second semifinal match, K Basa team defeated The Hills FC 8-7 via tie breaker.
