
Dimapur, November 21 (MExN): The Christ the King feast was celebrated in St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Kidima under Kohima Diocese with Reverend Father Raymond D’Souza SJ, pioneer of Jesuits mission in North East India as main celebrant on November 20.
According to a press release, Fr Raymond D’Souza SJ said Christ the King was different from other and that Christ’s kingdom was not to rule but to serve the people and not to keep an army for protection but for proclamation of the good news to the world. Christ’s kingdom is in one’s heart and life; it is not rebellion but forgiveness of people’s sins in compassion for those who beg for mercy and eternal life, he added.
Confession to Almighty God, supplication of Lord’s mercy, special prayer for departed souls, Enchanting Gloria, reading the word of God followed by the Eucharist celebration were the highlights of the daylong sacred feast, the release stated.
