17 year old Christina Chettri from Walford, Dimapur won Season 2 of the online gospel singing competition organized by Gorkha Baptist Church, Mon Town Youth Ministry. Bimla Ranapaheli from Kohima was the runner up while Angel Tamang from Notun Bosti, Dimapur bagged the third prize.
The contest was held from September 28 to October 24 and the result was declared on November 14. A total of 33 contestants from West Bengal, Assam and from different parts of Nagaland participated in the contest.
Season 2 was totally a digital approach and all the contestant's videos aired on the Joy Puns Vlog YouTube channel.
A press release from the organizers informed that the aim of the contest was to “enhance and exhibit oneness that we all share through Jesus, and also to amplify an opportunity for all upcoming singing artists with a platform to dispense their potential.”
The judging criteria were based on views and likes of the contestants on YouTube (Joy Puns Vlog), along with judgment of the contestant's voice quality, timing and vocabulary.
The winner received a cash prize of Rs 5000, while first runner up received Rs 3000 and second runner up received Rs 2000.
The awards of the competition were sponsored by Yanbemo (first prize), Mr and Mrs Methnyei Konyak (second prize) and Mr and Mrs Nyamyei Konyak (third prize). The judges for the competition were 'The Chronicles Band,' a Gorkha Christian rock band from Dimapur formed in 2009. Media partner for the event was Nepali Christian Platform.
