Dimapur, March 25 (MExN): The Chuchuyimlang Village Council and Bendangali Chuchuyimlang Senso Union, today, while upholding ‘intact Chuchuyimlang Village and Chuchuyimlang town under one administrative jurisdiction’ came down heavily on the Delimitation Draft submitted to the Election Commissioner ‘without the knowledge’ of the public “allegedly” by School Education Minister Imkong L Imchen.
Addressing a press conference, the public unions said that ‘Imchen’s draft,’ was for his own personal interest and not as per the directive of the EC.
It was demanded that the village and town be kept intact under a single administrative jurisdiction and constituency as was done in the 1st and 2nd delimitation proposal.’ The 3rd draft ‘is not the will of the public and the voters’ the unions asserted. The Delimitation Committee placed certain conditions such as contagious area, administrative area etc., to be taken into account during the re-adjustment, they said.
Under the draft submitted by Imchen, Chuchuyimlang village was placed in 22 Arakong A/C and under SDO Changtongya while Chuchuyimlang Town was kept in 24 Angetyongpang A/C and under Chuchuyimlang EAC.
Meanwhile, the public unions of Chuchuyimlang will clamp an indefinite bandh on National Highway 61 from March 27 and will also take a protest rally on March 27 all over the state from 4:00 am.
