Chümoukedima, February 21 (MExN): The Village Council of Chümoukedima Village, Chümoukedima 'A' Village, GBs of Chümoukedima Town, the Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town (NTUCT) and 7th Mile Model Village have resolved to “jointly co-operate and co-ordinate for effective result in controlling sale of illegal IMFL, local brewed alcohol, banned drugs and any other anti-social evils.”
This was decided at a joint coordination meeting between the above mentioned bodies on Tuesday, February 19.
The meeting which took place at the 7th Mile Model Village deliberated on the “difficulties being faced by the women group of 7th Mile Model Village in their fight against the rampant sale of illegal IMFL and all sorts of banned drugs and difficulties due to stiff opposition by few vested interest members in the Village,” informed a press release from Razouvoto Catsu, Chairperson, Chümoukedima Village, Kelenguzo Kuotsu, Head G.B, Chümoukedima Town, Lhousito Khro, President NTUCT, Imkong Tsudir, Chairperson, 7th Mile Model Village and Neikholie Shüya, Chairperson, Chümoukedima 'A' Village.
The house meeting resolved to “continuously frisk and also carry out operation against those who are indulging in the illegal profession in question.”
Further, “To impose harsh punishment against anyone who deliberately opposed the diktat and the consequence thereof shall be borne by the defaulter(s).”
