Dimapur, May 14 (MExN): Chümoukedima Village Council (CVC) has informed that the joint survey of new BG Railway line from 18.30 km to 48.00 km under Dimapur district will be conducted by the Land Records & Survey Department and the Railways Department from May 15 till further order. Therefore, all land owners affected by the railway alignment within the CVC jurisdiction have been asked to come and identify their demarcated land boundary within the above specified date. Any individuals failing to report for the said survey will be doing so at their own risk as “the village council shall not let any individual be a stumbling block in the progress of the said project,” stated a press release issued by CVC Chairman, Razouvotuo and Secretary, Mhasiletuo Visezo.
In a separate press release, Chümoukedima Village Council once again informed all public that sale and purchase of forested land area in its jurisdiction is strictly banned. Some “unscrupulous” individuals have been encroaching on community forest land and selling them to unsuspecting persons, the release stated. In this light, the village council has requested the general public not to buy any such area which may result in dispute and victimization. Any individuals or party not adhering to this notification shall be doing so at their own risk as the village council shall not be held responsible for any action taken against the defaulters, the release added.
