For the information of the public, the office can be approached via 7th Mile towards ARTC, Shoxuvi.
While congratulating the Directorate of Evaluation for establishing the district office, Jamir in his address averred that it is a giant leap forward in the process of development, particularly for Chumukedima. He opined that it will not be long before the township turns into a big city, adding, it has potential to accommodate the state Secretariat as well as the directorates, if it be shifted here.
He reminded that the state has been allocated Rs. 1300 crore for rural development. However, during the 12th Plan, expansion and development of urban areas will also be given priority, since urbanization is showing an increasing trend. The department of Evaluation is crucial, Jamir said, as all government plans and projects are evaluated by it, besides keeping the government up-to-date on the progress and pace of projects. If the department is neglected, the state cannot progress virtually bringing it to a standstill, he averred.
Director Evaluation & OSD Planning Kevileno Angami (IES), delivered the introductory remarks. Secretary, Economics & Statistics, Dr. Daniel Lonchar was also in attendance.
