
Nakachari, April 23 (MExN): Two day leadership training for the church leaders under Assam Valley Baptist Mission (AVBM) was held on April 22 and 23 at its Mission HQ at Nakachari in Jorhat District. A total of 105 Church workers from 31 churches under the aegis of the AVBM participated in the programme which was sponsored by the Senso Mission Board of Mangmetong Baptist Church, Mokokchung. Pastor I. Lolen Imchen, Mission Secretary, Neken Longchar and Youth Director, Meralong Langur of Mangmetong Baptist Church were the resource persons in this training session. Besides, AVBM evangelists Huni Gogoi and Nimrudh Mandal had assisted in the training sessions. The Assam Valley Baptist Mission (AVBM) is a common Baptist Christian venture initiated by Baptist Churches mostly independent churches located in the district of Jorhat, Sivasagar and Golaghat and bordering with Nagaland in the year 2005. The Mission has a total of 51 churches as on date. With an aim to uplifting in spiritual growth of all the neighbouring churches through true Christian living and by employing Evangelists for nurturing the already planted but sick churches with a great theme - “Go therefore and make disciples of all Nations”, the mission is also looking forward to establish a fully residential junior school with Bible as a subject for its varied children under AVBM through the active partnership of any Associations, Churches and individual volunteers as a stake holder in near future. Er. Temsu Wathi Ao, President of AVBM in a press release expressed gratitude to the resource persons who had spared their most valuable time in educating the members of its mission and Mangmetong Baptist Church Senso Mission Board for their support.
