
Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): The Council of Rengma Baptist Church (CRBC) and the Development Association of Nagaland (DAN), Diocese of Kohima with the Support of catholic Relief Services (CRS), organized a one-day Seminar on HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support at the Tseminyu Town Church conference Hall on August 12.
The resource persons, Paul Chawang, Kishor Dass and Peter Yiben from DAN made aware the scenario of HIV/AIDS in Nagaland, facts and myths of HIV/AIDS as well as prevention services available. Bazo Kire and David Khing of Kripa-KEKHRIE foundation spoke on the causes and effects of Drug addiction, prevention, treatment and recovery. Haiyale Kath of Miqlat Ministry, NBCC Women Department, also spoke on care and support and urged the youth to show compassion and love for those affected by drugs and HIV. Abemo of Positive Peoples Foundation Dimapur (PPF) concluded the session with the sharing of the plights of the PLWHA.
Over 270 participants most of whom were youths participated in the seminar.
