Reverend S.K. Miller, the speaker and guest at the 3rd convocation programme of Faith International Bible Training Centre pondered on several point to encourage the graduating batch. “Churches are crumbling these days. There is greed, pride and hidden sins, and you are going to dive into these kinds of churches; it is not going to be easy. Handle the word of God correctly”, he said.
The ceremony, which marked the transition of students’ life from one stage to another, was appropriately matched by the presence of Miller, who is a powerful speaker. Directing his sermon particularly to the outgoing students, he said, “Live a humble and transparent life. Audit your actions regularly and stay open to corrections.” He also advised them to stay in touch with the real world, to be able to identify with the poor and the needy, “Do not let people put you on a pedestal or you will loose sight of reality. Live modestly, give extravagantly and don’t build your own kingdom” he added.
Miller also spoke about the importance of family and the need to maintain spiritual passion. He urged the students to make Jesus their model in order to live in truth and destroy the evil kingdom. It was a moment of pride for the graduating students’ as they wore their ceremonial garb and walked into the City Faith Church premises which held the convocation programme to honour them. With great sense of achievement, Tonika speaking on behalf of the graduating batch, said, “We have acquired a whole new life. We came as children and we now are leaving as disciples and we are ready to counter anything in life. We have acquired hidden treasures in the bible which has strengthened us spiritually, physically and mentally.” She expressed gratitude to all her teachers and praised the institution saying, “This institution is a whole package and one among the best to receive spiritual growth.”
The students were felicitated with certificates and commissioned by the pastor of City faith church and Reverend S.K. Miller. There were songs presented by Sainai Ministry, the outgoing students and the staff of the Bible Training Centre.
