CIH conducts training on horticulture crops

Medziphema, February 21 (MExN): Two days training on ‘Post Harvest Management and Value addition of Horticulture Crops’ was organized by Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), DAC & FW, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Medziphema for rural youths on February 18 and 19.


The training was conducted on various aspects of post harvest management and value addition in horticulture produce. On day one, the participants were given hands-on training on preparation of different fruit beverages, sauces and Jams. The second day of the training programme consisted of hands-on training on other food processing aspect of horticulture crops, such as preparation of different types of candy and dehydrated products.


The training was organized so as to impart technical knowledge on processing and value addition of horticulture crops.


Altogether, 50 participants from Medziphema, Dimapur, Kohima and Senapati District attended the two days training programme. Vinika.K. Aomi, Post Harvest Technologist and other staff members of CIH coordinated the training programme and also collected feedback from participants.
