CIH Medziphema conducts farmers’ exposure trip

Dimapur, April 3 (MExN): An exposure visit cum training on ‘Production technology & processing of Aloe Vera’ was organized by Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema, DAC&FW, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India for the farmers of Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh at Manesh Agro Engineering & Technology, Kotputli, Jaipur, Rajasthan from March 25 to 27.  

The trip was organized as part of capacity building to enhance skills for income generation to improve livelihood through horticulture sector which has a high scope, stated a press release received here.  

Resource person Kailash Choudhary delivered on the concept of organic farming and improved production technology of Aloe Vera. Further, cost benefit ratio, and hands on demonstration on preparation of soap making, juice were carried out by Mahesh Jat. Also, various value added products from Aloe Vera, Bael and Amla were shown. Field visit on cultivation of Aloe Vera was also done which was followed by a visit to Jaipur city.  

Altogether, 20 farmers along with one CIH official attended the training, which concluded with certificates distribution to all the participants.
