College of Nursing, CIHSR organised 4th alumni meet (blended mode) in Lionel Gnanaraj Hall, CIHSR on April 20.
Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): The College of Nursing (CON), CIHSR organised 4th alumni meet (blended mode) in Lionel Gnanaraj Hall, CIHSR based on the theme ‘going the extra mile’ - Matthew 5:41 on April 20.
A total of 90 intramural and extramural alumni attended the programme, out of which 73 attended offline and 17 virtually, stated a press release received here.
The session was chaired by L Lidziisa Mao, Associate Professor. Imliyangla, Assistant Professor, read the word of God and led the invocation. Welcome Address was given by L Emi Humtsoe, Professor and Vice-President of Alumni Association.
A Purnungla Aier, Nursing Superintendent and Advisor of Alumni Association, CON, CIHSR, addressed the gathering. She updated the alumni on the new services and facilities initiated in CIHSR and also encouraged the Alumni to be a wonderful ambassador of their Alma Mater.
Dr Christy Simpson, Principal and President of Alumni Association, presented the annual report on CON and also expressed her gratitude to all the alumni for their generous donations towards the Alumni scholarship fund which is in the pipeline.
A brief report on the activities of alumni Association, CON, CIHSR was presented by Merentola P Longkumer, Assistant Professor and General Secretary, Alumni Association, where she mentioned that Alumni Association is in the process of registration of Alumni Association under Society Act to validate the existence and contributions of the association and also updated on the future projects.
Arhoni Tongoe, Associate Professor and Treasurer, Alumni Association, gave a report on the financial status of the association and further encourage the Alumni to donate towards the Alumni Scholarship Fund in order to provide monetary assistance to the Alumni desiring to go for further studies.
Inorder to acknowledge the Alumni for their contributions towards the community and society, the GNM 2012 January and August Batch, PBBSC (N) 2011 and 2012 Batch were honoured during the meet. A total of 15 honouring batch attended the meet and a token of appreciation was presented to the honouring batch present during the meet. There was also a time of Alumni experience sharing where they talked about their experiences as a student in CIHSR and how CON, CIHSR have impacted their lives and they also expressed their gratitude to all the teachers for shaping their lives.
Theme exhortation was done by Bendangmenla Ao, Vice-Principal BSC (N) Course. She encouraged the alumni to work with dedication and to take risk in going extra mile if it’s for a good cause. Neiketounuo Medom, Assistant Professor gave the vote of thanks and closing prayer was done by Bendangtemsula, Clinical Nurse and Alumni Representative, CON, CIHSR.
