Chümoukedima, April 9 (MExN): The Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) on Thursday conducted its 6th graduation ceremony at the LG Hall of its campus in Chümoukedima, with 75 students conferred degrees and diplomas across multiple disciplines.
Dr Anna Pulimood, former Principal of Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, and Professor of Pathology, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
The event began with an academic procession, as graduates walked past a line of students dressed in traditional Naga attire, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.
The programme was presided over by CIHSR Director Dr Sedevi Angami.
A total of 75 graduates received their qualifications, including eight Diplomate of National Board (DNB) graduates, 19 Post Basic BSc Nursing graduates, 29 BSc Nursing graduates, 21 General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) graduates, and 17 graduates from the North East Regional Multi-Disciplinary Paramedical Institute (NERMPI), representing BSc Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), BSc Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology (AOTT), and BSc Health Information Management (HIM) programmes.
Certificates were distributed by Dean of Medical Sciences Dr Leishwon Kumrah to DNB graduates, Principal of the College of Nursing Prof A Purnungla Aier to nursing graduates, and Principal of NERMPI Dr Paul Ravindran to paramedical graduates.
Certificates for Best Outgoing Students in Nursing and Certificates of Honour for Health Sciences students were also presented.
The oath was administered by Dr Leishwon Kumrah, while Dr Paul Ravindran delivered the charge to the graduates.
The ceremony concluded on a celebratory note, marking the graduates’ transition into the healthcare profession.
