The Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) held its fourth graduation ceremony at LG Hall with Justice, Songkhupchung Serto, Chairperson of Nagaland State Human Rights Commission as the chief guest.
Altogether, 368 students from different courses such as Allied Health Sciences, Nursing and Diploma of National Board (DNB) graduated on Friday.

In his address to the gathering, Serto appraised the growth of the institute over the years through the hard-work and dedication of its staffs and members. “It is indeed a privilege and a blessing to be here on this special occasion,” he stated.

As the medical profession is considered a noble undertaking, he maintained that each of the students should be proud of their achievements and accomplishments. At the same time, he reminded them of the responsibilities entrusted upon them to serve and help the people.

“A majority of us choose our profession for better comfort and respect but not to serve the people,” he opined. Towards this, he underscored the value of nurturing, serving and transforming lives in each of their future careers.

Dr Christy Simpson, Principal, College of Nursing noted that the occasion served as a reminder of the years of hard work put in not just by the students themselves but also by the different individuals in support of them. “I congratulate all the students, parents, teaching faculty and staffs as well,” she said.

As future nurses and doctors, she also put across the fact that quality care should be given to all the people who come to them seeking treatment. “Always remember the five Cs of compassion, competency, conscience, confidence and commitment during your work life,” she said.

During the ceremony, the students were presented with their passing out certificates merit and academic excellence certificates as well. In total 154 students, in attendance, had been handed out their graduating certificates including diplomas.
