CII and IDGS with support from the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), organised a two-day LevelUp Northeast – Gaming Track in Kohima and Dimapur.
Kohima, July 10 (MExN): The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Indian Digital Gaming Society (IDGS), with support from the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), organised a two-day LevelUp Northeast – Gaming Track. The initiative is powered by GameForge, IDGS’s flagship industry-academia connect platform. The event was held in Kohima and Dimapur to equip youth with skills, insights, and opportunities in the fast-growing gaming and creative technology sector, stated a press release.
Held at Kohima Science College on July 8, the first day brought together industry leaders from KRAFTON India, JetSynthesys, Chitkara University, Reliance Industries, and more. Students explored topics like game development, storytelling, legal aspects of gaming, and how to apply design thinking to real-world challenges.
“Gaming isn’t just play, it’s creation, storytelling, design, and problem-solving,” says Hokhuli Sema, Chairperson of CII Nagaland, who will address the opening session. “Through initiatives like LevelUp and GameForge, we’re building bridges between talent and opportunity, especially in regions like Nagaland, where creativity meets culture.”
On July 9, the energy shifted to Tetso College, Dimapur, where students engaged in advanced sessions on game design, career pathways, and interactive storytelling. Speakers included Dr Abhay Sinha (DG, SEPC), and senior leaders from KRAFTON India, JetSynthesis and Chitkara University.
Delivering the keynote address virtually, Dr Abhay Sinha, Director General, SEPC, emphasized India’s global potential in the gaming export market and the Northeast’s critical role in that future.
Participants received hands-on exposure to concept design, world-building, and gameplay mechanics—guided by industry experts. The sessions highlighted how students can turn their ideas into careers, start-ups, or creative ventures in gaming.
An update received here stated that a Tech + Gaming Summit later this year will bring together policymakers, investors, creators, and youth from across India to spotlight the Northeast’s rise as a digital innovation hub.
