Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland finds in senior citizens more support in his contention against corruption in the government. The senior citizens forum of Nagaland expressed support and solidarity with the governor that there is a “need” to stop corruption at all levels in the government. The senior citizens in a note from its executives said “proper accounts” should be maintained, as pointed out by the Auditor General of Nagaland, for the public and private sector units. The forum also wants the departments to “associate” the district senior citizens forum in the selection of old-age pension beneficiaries. This is to maintain transparency in its administration, the forum said. The forum in the meantime has expressed gratitude to the chief minister for assuring a number of facilities for seniors. The forum said the assurances include recreation centers in every district. Elders’ services are to be utilized to offer lectures and talks on Naga culture, tradition and practices, the forum said.
