Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Metsubo Jamir have urged upon citizens and civil societies to give back to the society for the good of the people.
Metsubo inaugurated a Clock Tower cum Free Public Water Drinking Booth at New Market junction near Plaza Bakery, Dimapur constructed by Dimapur Langpangkong Senso Telongjem (DLST) under the aegis of Dimapur Municipal Council. He said Dimapur was the face of Nagaland and urged upon all communities to come together in doing something good for the city. Metsubo also lauded the DLST for setting a ‘good example’ in giving back to the society.
Advisor, Power, Tovihoto Ayemi also appreciated the DLST for taking the initiative in constructing the facility and expressed hope that other NGOs would emulate their good works.
MLA Moatoshi said what the DLST has done had proved the very meaning of its existence in Dimapur.
It was informed during the programme that the clock tower cum free water drinking booth is GPS based and has clocks on three sides of the tower. The infrastructure was built in commemoration of DLST golden jubilee (1968-2018).
