
Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): Reminding that no Naga birth-citizenship can be squashed, both the NSCN factions are asked to revoke their respective decrees issued to prominent Naga citizens Goa Governor Dr. SC Jamir, Education minister Imkong L Imchen and Principal Secretary Alemtemshi Jamir.
Ao Senso Telongjem, Dimapur, today issued a statement expressing resentment at the branding of Dr. SC Jamir and Principal Secretary Alemtemshi Jamir as “anti-people” and “anti-national” by the NSCN-IM. The ASTD affirmed strong stand on the decision of the Ao Senden in the stated matter. Stating that the two command high credentials for their contribution to the Nagas’ welfare and interest of the people, the Telongjem reminded that citizens’ rights cannot be squashed unless deemed fit only by the community. ‘…citizen’s rights of a Naga which is bestowed to every individual Naga by birth cannot be questioned or squashed unless the community alone feels it deems fit to do so’ stated the Telonjem through it’s president Temjen Jamir and general secretary T Panger Tzudir.
The Telongjem also asked the NSCN-K to “kindly” revoke its decree against Education minister Imkong L Imchen. The ASTD reminded that a collective decision taken by a competent authority with the support and consultation of various public organizations should not be reflected on one individual.
Calling for exercise of Christian spirit and with the interest of the Naga people in mind, the underground factions are asked to “kindly” revoke their respect decrees.
