City Angling holds 1st open competition

  DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13 (DIPR): City Angling Centre held its 1st open competition on August 12 at Bangjak Phom Colony Walford Area Dimapur. Around 80 anglers, including anglers from Assam took part in the competition which started at 8:00am.   Pilato Sema, one of the competitors was of the view that Angling as a sport has a wide scope in Nagaland for promotion of eco tourism. He cited that anglers from as far as Scotland participated during the 1st State angling competition which was held a couple of months back with the support of the Fisheries Department. Stating that Nagaland is endowed with rich and unique resources, he was optimistic that angling activity can promote tourism and adventure in the state.   Mar Longkumer, with a total catch of 8.100 Kgs was adjudged as the winner of the Competition followed by Tali Yanger (4.895 kgs) in the second place and Hukato Yepthomi(4.235 kgs) securing the third position .   Winners: 1. Tumbemo Kikon-  1.935 Kgs 9. Kalong- 1.78 kgs 10.Zuben Patton-  1.625 Kgs   The biggest catch and first catch went to Asangba Jamir and Temjen Imsong respectively.
